MORTON - Richard D. Park, 78, of Morton, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at his home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Dillon, Ill., to Lowell and Beulah (Berchtold) Park. He married Barbara Aberle on March 27, 1955. She survives.
Dick is also survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Eric) Foster of Morton; three daughters-in-law, Rhonda Park, Barbie Park and Lisa McLinden; 11 grandchildren, Jodi (Craig) Thompson, Joe Park, Janell Williams, Carmen (Greg) Magers, Deanne Park, Mandy (Matt) Swartzendruber, Marcus (Ashley) Foster, Dani Foster, Nate Park, Sarah Park and Ally Park; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Gary Park of Lincoln, Ill.
He was preceded in death by three sons, David, Steve and Mike and one great granddaughter, Karlie.
Dick began his career with Caterpillar Inc. as a proud tool maker and still has his tools neatly stored and lightly oiled. He retired in 1991 as a general supervisor for the tool room and cribs at the Mossville plant.
He had attended Grace Church in Morton and was also a member of Kennel Lake Sportsmen's Club.
Dick was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and fisherman. He loved the Minnesota Northwoods where he vacationed with his family annually for nearly 50 years.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Doug Habegger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
